CEO Maurice Brewster to Improve Company’s Digital Presence Through Google’s Tuck Executive Education Program

Who would say no when the world’s number 1 ranking website offers them training in digital marketing?

President and CEO of Mosaic Global Transportation, Maurice Brewster, certainly did not let this opportunity pass him by. He he received an invitation in May of this year from Google to join the Tuck Executive Education program and saw the chance to improve his company’s digital presence.

“I am always looking to ‘sharpen the saw’, to be around smart people who can make me a smarter president and CEO, and to learn and grow in order to figure out new ways to develop our company,” says Brewster.

And he will be doing just that starting June 9th. Tuesday is the first day of the “Digital Excellence Program for Minority Entrepreneurs” which helps entrepreneurs fully grasp how they can better be using their online presence in order to promote their business.

“I’m hoping that by the end of the program I’ll learn how to be more relevant in social media and how to use it to gain more business, notoriety, and presence on the Internet. I am also looking forward to learning how to see which things are working well and which things are not,” Brewster added.

Through twelve sessions spanned over three days, Brewster will  be learning about topics ranging from digital strategy to how to better improve customer relationships.

“Rhonda and I spend countless hours in not being complacent in where we are today but to grow and exceed our customer’s expectations. This is just one example of how we reinvest in Mosaic in order to be a better company for our employees and for our customers,” Brewster finished.

Brewster is flying to the East Coast this week in order to join the Tuck Executive Education program located at Google’s Cambridge, MA office.

NLA West Voters – Make Your Vote Count!

image1-6Dear NLA West Voters,

My name is Maurice Brewster, President and CEO of Mosaic Global Transportation, headquartered in Redwood City, CA. Like you, I am a proud member of the National Limousine Association and passionate about the Chauffeured Transportation Industry.

As you know, the National Limousine Association will be sending out ballots for the 2015 Board of Directors election within the next couple of weeks. There are seven open seats on the Board of Directors this coming year and I am honored to announce my candidacy for one of those seats. Here’s why I hope you will consider and vote for me.

INDUSTRY EXPERIENCE:

As President/Founder of Mosaic Global Transportation, I bring more than 36 years of successful sales, sales management & entrepreneur experience. Under my leadership, Mosaic Global has grown so significantly since its start in 2002 that the National Minority Supplier Development Council named Mosaic the National Supplier of the Year and the National Limousine Association named it one of the fastest growing companies in the ground transportation industry.

Mosaic Global Transportation is an international provider of ground transportation services, with offices in both Northern & Southern California. I have served as a Board Member of the Northern California Minority Supplier Development Council, former Board Member of the Greater California Livery Association and Chairman of the Minority Business Enterprise Input Committee.

I have also formed a new Non Profit Industry Group called the Minority Limousine Operators of America (MLOA). Our main function is to provide education & opportunities for minority limousine owners worldwide. The MLOA’s latest launch effort is providing new support and education program that helps owners navigate the requirements for 8a certification through the Small Business Administration (SBA).

This program assists minority owners with preparing the required company documents, financial information, and applications required to be certified and eligible for government request-for-proposal (RFP) contract participation.

Prior to establishing Mosaic Global Transportation, I have held several senior & management positions with DuPont, GTE, SPRINT & MCI. I have a strong background in directing, building and managing successful sales teams in a variety of markets. My expertise includes opening and growing new markets in the commercial as well as government sectors for a variety of hardware, software and networking technology companies.

6 REASONS WHY YOU SHOULD CONSIDER VOTING FOR ME:

  1. As a Board Member, I hope to help grow NLA membership in the Bay Area by encouraging all limousine and ground transportation company within my network and outside of my network to join the NLA. We have over 6,000 registered limo companies in our state and only 2,000 members in the NLA across the globe. Also, I want to start a campaign that speaks to all of us who farm out work to non NLA or non-local livery members. If the few of us concentrate on this issue, we can make a difference.
  2. Fight the good fight against the TNC’s by being active in the State of California through lobbying efforts. Not only through our paid representation, but by encouraging our network to get involved. There is no larger issue facing us today, than fighting the good fight against the TNC’s and forcing the regulators to regulate the TNC’s.
  3. Aggressively work on eliminating the illegal “Gypsy Operators” by educating the licensed operators to embrace “If You See Something, Say Something”. This is borrowed from New York’s famous saying however it can apply to us. We need to start reporting illegal individuals who put our industry in jeopardy and potentially harm public safety.
  4. Be a voice for the voiceless within my state and in the industry.
  5. Help develop and grow membership with the local Greater California Livery Association (GCLA) in the great State of California.
  6. Help develop business skills training for the small operator. I’d like to start a mentorship program, whose intent is to pair larger operators with smaller ones to teach them how to deliver service.

As a member of the NLA Board of Directors, I hope to prove that I am the best qualified person to fight for what’s right! I want to end the existence of illegal operators and the regulation of the TNC’s! More importantly, I want to be a part of moving the GCLA and the NLA to the next level.

But I can’t do it alone. Your vote matters! Make it count and vote for Maurice Brewster for NLA Board and together let’s make a difference!

Sincerely,

Maurice Brewster
President/CEO, Mosaic Global Transportation

Mosaic Global Transportation Celebrates Thanksgiving!

It seems like 2014 flew by quickly, and the holiday season right around the corner. In a couple of weeks, we’ll all be at various places, with family and friends, looking forward to and NOT looking forward to the annual Thanksgiving traditions. I asked some of the staff at MGT share what traditions they looked forward to and what they didn’t. This is what they said:

“I’m excited, that our Thanksgivings always includes family & friends. I don’t look forward to the extra food I store away during dinner, after dinner, desert and turkey sandwiches all in the same night.” – Maurice Brewster, President/CEO

“I look forward to going from house to house with the guise of saying hi to friends and family, but realistically getting as much free food as possible. I do not look forward to the credit card bills after Christmas shopping.” – Kris Fletcher, Director of Operations

“I always enjoyed sitting around the dinner table at my Grandmother’s and saying grace with the entire extended family. In retrospect it was always like the warm-up to Christmas dinner. I thoroughly don’t enjoy the shopping madness that tends to occur around the holiday.” – Damian Lee, Dispatcher

Ami Lal, Account Manager, says she looks forward to Maurice’s speech at the Thanksgiving potluck, but doesn’t look forward to gaining the traditional 5 holiday pounds!

Chauffeur Erik Rodriguez looks forward to tamales and spending time with the family. He doesn’t look forward having too many people at their house because of the tamales! (I don’t blame you Erik, I love tamales!).

And lastly, one I think we could all agree with, came from Ron Purdy, Senior Account Manager, who says that the tradition he doesn’t look forward to is family drama!

Whatever your traditions great and small, as you celebrate Thanksgiving, remember the words of President Barrack Obama:

“Let’s be grateful for what we have. Let’s be mindful of those who have less. Let’s appreciate those who hold a special place in our lives, and make sure that they know it. And let’s think about those who can’t spend the holiday with their loved ones — especially the members of our military serving overseas.”

On behalf of Maurice and Rhonda Brewster, and the entire MGT family, have a safe and happy Thanksgiving! We are grateful for you!

A Special Message from President/CEO, Maurice Brewster

Greetings One & All:

As you know, October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, which is an annual campaign to increase awareness of the disease. While most people are aware of breast cancer, many forget to take the steps to have a plan to detect the disease in its early stages and encourage others to do the same. For the past 4 years, Mosaic Global Transportation initiated the trend to wear Pink Ties for the month of October to show our support for this disease and to highlight the importance of early detection.

Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Here are the facts:

  • One in eight women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime.
  • Breast cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer in women.
  • Breast cancer is the second leading cause of death among women.
  • Each year it is estimated that over 220,000 women in the United States will be diagnosed with breast cancer and more than 40,000 will die.
  • Although breast cancer in men is rare, an estimated 2,150 men will be diagnosed with breast cancer and approximately 410 will die each year.

I challenge every operator, every person & every organization in our great industry and in our great country to stand up and join the campaign to continue to increase the awareness of breast Cancer and the early detection of it.

Warm regards,

Maurice H. Brewster
